This video shows a recent remodel involving the kitchen and surrounding areas. The clients were looking for a more open kitchen that would give them more room and better functionality and enjoyment. As you’ll see, the space is now open and bright, helping them better enjoy beautiful views to their yard.

In Town or Out of Town
Most of our clients live in their home while we are working on their remodeling project and we work hard to isolate them from the potential inconveniences of living in a construction zone. However, others are off site during construction. While some of these clients remain close by as the changes to their home are made, it is not unusual for us to handle projects for homeowners who are out of state or even out of country while we work in their home. Is it Time for a Change? Reorganize your space on the go.
Striving for the Best Results
Most homeowners have a budget in mind when they are planning a remodeling project. In recognition of this fact, many remodeling companies limit the design options they provide their clients to ones that are in line with the budget. However, in our experience, this does not generally produce the best end result.
Designing to the Dream
While seeking the most cost effective way to address a maintenance project may be appropriate, limiting the options presented to a client on a remodeling project in the interest of hitting a budget essentially denies the homeowner the opportunity to see what is really possible for their home. As a result, the project design is being driven by the contractor, instead of the homeowner.
Discovering the Dream Within
According to Michelangelo, “every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.” Similarly, all of our clients have a dream in mind when we first meet to discuss their remodeling project and it is Weidmann’s job to bring it to life. Indeed, assisting in this artistic pursuit is the essence of who we are and what we do. Weidmann discovers the dream within!
Five Over Four and a Door Transformation
In Atlanta, it is common to find homes built with the traditional “five, four and a door” configuration. What is this you may ask. Simply stated, it is an architectural style where the main section of the home has five windows symmetrically aligned across the front of the second floor, while two windows flank either side of the entry door on the first floor. Although there are some variations, the interiors of these traditional homes are fairly consistent. The first floor is typically compartmentalized into four living areas centered around the foyer, front stairs, back hall, powder room and basement stairs. All the bedrooms are generally found on the second floor with a hall bath serving the secondary bedrooms, while the master has its own, relatively small bathroom.
Nestled on a hill overlooking downtown, is a turn of the century traditional brick home which stands as a reminder of Atlanta from days gone by. When the current homeowners first laid eyes on it, they were able to see past the need for renovation and fell in love with the ‘old world charm’ the home exuded. Yet, like Atlanta herself, the home has changed over the years and had many reasons for renovation.
